Blue Square Casino Review

Blue Square Casino

At first glance Blue Square looks like a fairly typical casino bolt-on supplied to an established sports betting operator, but check out some of the games on offer underneath its serious-looking exterior and you’ll fund a world of fun, entertaining table, slot and arcade games that you may have never seen anywhere else.

Eligibility and Jurisdiction

Blue Square Ltd are wholly-owned by The Rank Group Plc and licenced in Alderney.

Software and Graphics

Blue Square originally started as a sports betting operation, and in true online betting shop style they’ve kept the site decor down to a minimum of fuss and just let the game icons provide the colour. It’s mostly an online casino – though they do offer a download it’s not particularly easy to find or even promoted on the site. Loading times are fast, and with games from IGT/Wagerworks that comes as no surprise.

Games

There’s 19 table games with some unusual variations like Roulette with section bets, Hot Streak Bonus Roulette, Stand or Bust Blackjack and Real Deal Pontoon; there’s also a live room and a couple of videopoker games. There’s over 70 slots, which isn’t a huge number but it’s quality over quantity at Blue Square, and we especially liked the family entertainment bias of the machines, with titles like Cluedo, X Factor and Spiderman bringing some classic, familiar names to our screens. This idea spills over into the excellent Games section, which hosts skill, scratchcard, less hardcore slots, numbers and racing games. They obviously realise how much the public love to play slots themed around classic TV shows so they’ve added a separate TV section (the largest we’ve seen anywhere), with fondly-remembered gems like Blockbusters, Deal or No Deal, Family Fortunes and Who Wants to be a Millionaire? all making welcome appearances.

Bonuses and Promotions

The welcome bonus is 100% up to £100, credited once the generous playthrough requirement of 20 on selected games (mainly slots) is reached.

Strangely, there’s also a free £10 paid out to anyone using the download casino – which as explained earlier isn’t made especially prominent. It only needs to be played through 3 times before you can withdraw and all games count towards meeting the conditions, although only slots contribute 100%.

Another quirky but interesting bonus we’ve never seen before was a free £25 in chips for anyone depositing £25 in the live casino and playing it through 30 times, i.e., deposit £25, wager £750 and you’ll get £25 free. Finally, there is – of course – a loyalty scheme offering 10p per £100 wagered (20p if you play the jackpot slots). This might be the simplest loyalty scheme we’ve seen – if only they were all like this…

Payment Methods

Deposit with Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Maestro, Solo, Switch, Lazer, Neteller, Moneybookers or UKash. Withdrawal times vary with payment method, but take a maximum of 10 working days.

Customer Support

Telephone support is available 24/7 on 0800 587 0500; email help can be found at  [email protected], or there’s a 24 hour chat service.

Like most sports betting operators, Blue Square spread their slot and casino games across two categories: one for serious players and one for people seeking a quick flutter – but ignoring the Games tab with Blue Square will deprive you of some great slots and arcade experiences that you won’t find anywhere else, so keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to add some fun into the mix as you enjoy some of the most original and well thought out bonuses that any online casino can give you.
